ProTek Devices has introduced a steering diode/TVS array for circuit protection in common computing interfaces (such as HDMI and DVI, USB, SATA, PCIe, etc.). It provides an ultra-low capacitance of 0.3pF, which is a typical value for I/O to ground.
The new device PLR0504FN5 is compatible with IEC standard 61000-4-2 (ESD): air/-15kV and contact/-8kV, 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A, 5/50ns and use 61000-4-5 (surge ): 3A-8/20 microseconds. The new components also provide >25kV ESD protection for the four data lines. In addition, it also provides a low leakage current of <0.1uA.
The device also complies with RoHS and REACH standards. At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are major issues. This new device, together with passive components integrated into the TVS/filter network, can be used for EMI/RFI protection in this situation.
The weight of the device is approximately 5 mg. The component is packaged in a molded DFN-5 package. Other mechanical and packaging features include operating and storage temperatures of -55C to 150C and lead-free pure tin plating (annealing). These components work at reflow temperatures (pure tin: Sn, 100) from 260C to 270C. It also has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0.
