Added EMI protection for low- and medium-power industrial, office and medical electrical and electronic equipment

Marlborough, Mass., June 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - API Technologies Corp. (API), a leading provider of high-performance RF and microwave signal conditioning and electromagnetic spectrum management solutions, announced the launch of a new series of DIN rail mounting EMI Filters, used in medical to metering applications, have reduced installation complexity. API's 62-STB series DIN rail-mounted single-phase power supply EMI filter can eliminate differential mode and common mode electromagnetic interference (EMI) and meet strict electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance specifications. They are ideal for reducing harmful interference in industrial applications and high-power office/medical equipment and instruments, such as:

New electronic products have higher requirements for intelligence and performance, and are more sensitive to external EMI. In fact, as digital, analog, and RF/microwave electronic devices that are highly sensitive to EMI are increasingly used to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and implement innovative solutions, industrial, office, and medical environments demand EMC compliance Is intensifying. EMI power filters are a low-cost solution for designing better EMC compliance or retrofitting existing equipment that is negatively affected by EMI.

API's DIN rail mount EMI filters are easy to integrate, install and connect to the exterior or interior of existing equipment, control panels, and power cords. They can also be easily replaced, retrofitted or repaired and installed on any DIN rail system. Some models include chassis mounting functions for greater customization and practicality.

API's DIN rail-mounted power supply filter has a 50/60 Hz rated voltage operation up to 250 VAC; the maximum rated current range of this series of models is 6 A to 30 A. Although capable of handling large amounts of power, the maximum leakage current of these EMI filters is very low, typically 0.5 mA at 250 VAC, and the available models can reach up to 0.1 mA. The low maximum voltage drop of the EMI filter is less than 1.0 V.

API's DIN rail-mounted noise filter shows a high insulation resistance of 300 MΩ between the 500 VDC power line and the ground. In addition, these EMI filters can withstand industrial temperatures with an operating temperature range of -25°C to 85°C, including temperature rises of up to 45°C. They can have enhanced high pulse and high noise attenuation functions to meet a wider range of operating requirements.

API's DIN rail-mounted EMI filter has passed the approval of the safety agency, is rugged and durable, uses an epoxy molded case, is RoHS compliant, and is designed to meet all applicable industrial standards.
