Ford India has conducted a voluntary recall of EcoSport for DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) issues. The company has notified customers to check the VIN of their vehicles to see if they are affected by the recall, and if so, please visit the nearest Ford Service Center.

Earlier, owners of Ford EcoSport diesel locomotives reported engine problems at low speeds. The speed is unstable, but will jump up and down, which may be caused by improper combustion. Not only is this disturbing, but it can also damage the DPF. The manufacturer stated that although the damaged DPF does not constitute a safety hazard, it will result in non-compliance with the current BS6 emission standard.

To solve this problem, the Ford Service Center will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software of the affected models and replace the emission reduction components of the exhaust system when necessary. Checking and updating will take less than half a day, depending on the availability of service hours, so be sure to check and schedule your service according to the recall plan when needed.

Ford's EcoSport diesel engine is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, capable of producing 100 PS and 215 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. In addition, this SUV also offers a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 gasoline engine option (123 PS/149 Nm) before production is discontinued. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, and a 6-speed AT is optional for the gasoline version.

It is great to see that Ford is still actively providing after-sales service support to its customers after closing its Indian stores. Ordinary readers will remember that after experiencing huge losses, the Blue Oval Company announced in September this year that it would cease sales and manufacturing in the country.

The manufacturer has confirmed plans to bring its iconic models (such as Mustang, Ranger Raptor, etc.) back to India in 2022. Obviously there is a premium label.
