Yesterday, AMD uploaded a video on its official YouTube video revealing a new technology called “Voice Suppression,” which allows users to filter background noise.

The trailer was published which mentions AMD Noise Suppression will use a real-time deep learning algorithm to minimize noise, which will filter out background noise, incoming and outgoing microphone audio. The video suggests that Noise Suppression is a new setting in the Audio and Video tab of AMD Adrenaline. AMD has since removed the trailer from its YouTube channel, though Reddit user u/zenobian managed to download the trailer and post it on the AMD subreddit.

The idea of noise suppression sounds interesting, so I know what to call Nvidia’s RTX voice. The beta software was launched in early 2020. This allowed GPU owners to improve their outgoing sound by eliminating all of their background noise using AI. Despite the name RTX, a patched version of RTX Voice support older cards like the GTX 1060, although your mileage will vary if you use a non-RTX card. Nvidia would later introduce the feature to an app called Broadcast, which launched in September 2020, and requires an X-ray GPU.
