Flex Power Modules has added a 30W dual output variant and 4:1 input to its PKE series of through-hole packaged on-board DC-DC converters.

The PKE532x series has an input range of 18-75Vdc (100V peak) and is suitable for 24, 28 or 48 V nominal values

The input range of PKE332x series is 9-36Vdc (50V peak)

Both devices provide ±12V or ±15V regulated dual outputs, with dimensions of 25.4 x 25.4 x 6.4 mm (1x1x0.4 inches). The efficiency is usually as high as 80%.

"They are very suitable for high-reliability applications where cost is important, such as industrial and communications electronics, instrumentation equipment, and mobile and battery-powered systems," the company said. "A particular advantage of these new variants in the PKE series is that they can operate at ambient temperatures in excess of 100°C with simultaneous airflow and derating."

The package protects the converter in high shock and vibration environments or in environments with dust and moisture. The metal shell provides five-sided shielding.

The input-output isolation is 1.5kVdc, which meets the "basic" insulation and safety requirements of IEC/UL 62368-1.

EN 55032, CISPR 32 and FCC Part 15J EMC conducted emission standards can be met by the external filters specified in the data sheet.

Provide remote on/off control. Both series include over-temperature, input under-voltage, output over-voltage, over-current and short-circuit protection.
